Yin Yoga

The Yin practice targets the connective (fascia) tissue, holding the postures for a longer period of time allows tension to release creating a feeling of being more elastic increasing range of motion and allowing more space in the body.

Yin yoga is a gentle, quiet, and meditative practice that invites us to relax and accept ourselves just as we are. All poses are done on the floor so that the muscles can relax and allow the deep connective tissues surrounding the hips, thighs, and lower back to be gently lengthened. Yin Yoga maintains the health of the connective tissue and encourages free flow of energy in the body. Poses are held for longer periods of time (generally 3-5 minutes) and awareness is guided to sensations in the body, providing the perfect opportunity for mindful and loving presence.

Yin yoga is a beautiful way to create space and ease in the body and to help improve your overall mobility and range of motion. A grounding and meditative practice, a beautiful way to balance an active life.
